9 Eateries to Dine at During Winterlicious

Toronto’s favourite foodie event is back for two scrumptious weeks. From Jan. 31 to Feb. 13, you can savour a mouth-watering meal at one of more than 200 restaurants participating in Winterlicious, nine of which are located in the city’s west end. Three-course prix fixe lunch menus are priced at $23, $28 and $33, and dinners at $33, $43 and $53.

 

Bandit Brewery

Once an auto shop, Bandit Brewery has evolved into a warm and inviting space in the heart of Roncesvalles. Inspired by German beer gardens, the casual restaurant/microbrewery serves up craft beers made on-site, a selection of Ontario wine/cider options and a diverse menu that includes a variety of small bites/shareables, vegetarian/vegan options and an expansive charcuterie program. Cuisine: Bistro. Prix fixe lunch $23; dinner $33.


Beaumont Kitchen is a comfortable all-day dining lounge located inside Saks Fifth Avenue at Sherway Gardens. Amidst its sleek design, rich textures and whimsical accents, the space features plush loungers and banquettes, formal dining tables and relaxed bar seating. Ingredients sourced from quality nearby purveyors. Cuisine: Contemporary Canadian and international. Prix fixe lunch $23; dinner $33. Free parking available.


Bloom Restaurant

Nestled in the heart of Bloor West Village, Bloom delivers a warm, casual and inviting atmosphere. The menu is steeped in the rich traditions of Spain and Latin America but with a contemporary twist. Cuisine: Nuevo Latino. Prix fixe lunch $28; dinner $43.


La Vecchia Lakeshore

Nestled along the lake in Humber Bay Shores, La Vecchia Lakeshore continues the 25-year tradition of the uptown location with its trademark cuisine and inviting ambiance. The food combines the authentic flavours of old world Italy with new world sensibilities. Cuisine: Italian. Prix fixe dinner $33.


Local Kitchen

Local Kitchen and Wine Bar is small, dark and cozy, serving locally grown Italian inspired fare. An extensive wine line focuses on vino from Ontario and Italy. Cuisine: Italian. Prix fixe dinner $43.


Merlot is a French bistro whose menu stretches from dishes typical of southwestern France to those of the north. Cuisine: French. Prix fixe lunch $28; dinner $43.


Original flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and glowing fireplaces create a warm and relaxed atmosphere at the Old Mill. The mix of historic beauty and modern food will ensure your meal is a memorable one. Cuisine: International. Prix fixe lunch $28; dinner $43.


Pulcinella‘s elegant but rustic decor is like a trattoria you would find in Italy, with lots of rich woods and stone featured walls. All cured meats and tomato sauces are made in-house, and both local and imported ingredients are used. Cuisine: Italian. Prix fixe lunch $23; dinner $33. Free parking available.


In business now for 38 years, Vibo offers a casual, warm dining experience. The menu changes regularly to highlight what is fresh and in season. Guests enjoy live piano music with dinner Tuesday to Saturday. Cuisine: Italian. Prix fixe lunch $28; dinner $43.


Restaurants will begin accepting reservations Jan. 16, for the prix fixe promotion.

Winterlicious also features 14 culinary events suitable for both adventurous and cautious food explorers. They include a historic tavern meal at Montgomery’s Inn, chocolate tasting at Crimson Teas and an interactive cooking experience on the art of handmade pizza at Cibo Wine Bar.
