Decor More Accessible with Launch of New Brands
Two new home decor brands have entered the Canadian market, opening stores across the Greater Toronto Area (and, in some cases, beyond) this year.
Fox Home was the first to announce its expansion plans in late May. Stores carry an array of casual and fashionable products for many rooms in the home, including the dining room, kitchen and bedroom, as well as other decorative pieces. The brand designs in-house, with products adapting to trends and offered at attractive prices.
Fox Home launched its first store in the Eaton Centre. Others have since opened at Yorkdale, Sherway Gardens, Square One and Fairview Mall. Stores in Vaughan Mills, Upper Canada Mall and Scarborough Town Centre are expected to open before the end of the year.
Canadian-owned Rooms + Spaces recently announced plans to open 24 stores across the country throughout August and September. Shoppers will find a broad range of high-quality affordable products, says the company, from at-home essentials and must-haves based on the latest trends to unique brands that can’t be found elsewhere.
With a focus on supporting homegrown businesses, more than 80% of Rooms + Spaces vendors will be from Canada. Each store will also feature a 1,500 to 2,500-square-foot Toys ’R’ Us shop. Some Rooms + Spaces will occupy space previously filled by Bed Bath & Beyond.
The increasing number of new home constructions, remodelling projects and renovations are driving the growth of the home decor market.
