Blue Box Recycling Changes Coming to Toronto
The City of Toronto will soon no longer manage recycling for residential customers.
A private company will take over this service on Jan. 1. This transition is required under provincial legislation.
All requests for residential blue bin recycling services, including missed collection, bin repair or replacement, must be directed to Circular Materials in the new year.
Despite the change, there are no impacts on how residents recycle. Existing blue bins will remain in use, materials that are recycled will stay the same with a few new additions, and residents should continue following their regular collection schedule provided by the City in early December.
